Admissions Policies

A person can be admitted to Dodge City Community College if they meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • A graduate of an accredited high school.
  • A successful completer of the General Education Development (GED) examination.
  • A person 18 years of age or older.
  • A graduate of an approved homeschool program or a non-accredited private school. Students must submit evidence of their academic status in the form of a diploma, transcript or assessment exams.
  • A high school sophomore, junior or senior student with written permission from the high school principal.
  • A student enrolled in grades 9 through 12 in a recognized gifted program with written permission from the high school principal.
  • A transfer student, in good standing, from a regionally accredited university/college.
  • The college reserves the right to deny admission or re-admission to any individual determined by the appropriate administrative personnel to be a threat to the community college.

What this means...

During the Admissions application process, you can expect the process to take a few days. However, once your application has been processed, you will begin to receive emails explaining your next steps. Be sure to check your email often!

Although there is NO application fee, and NO entrance essay, you may be required to send your ACT scores or schedule a complimentary Accuplacer test for placement into some courses. In addition, you will also be required to send us your high school transcripts and any other college transcripts you previously may have attended.

Transcripts - not to worry, ordering your transcripts is usually pretty easy. Most often you will be using a special service like Parchment to request copies of your transcripts sent to DC3. Each school you have attended will be sending the transcripts directly to us so do not worry if you do not see them in the mail. Click the link below to see how it works:
