WHICH CLASS LENGTH IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Dodge City Online offers three different course lengths or pathways. The traditional 16 week, a half term 8 week, and an accelerated 4 week.

These pathways are intended to help you pick which model is best for you and your learning style. They are not intended to be combined within a term.
Traditional (Purple)
16 Week Courses Example
This is a traditional pathway where a student takes all of their classes for the entire semester.

Pros- Variety and ability to slowly absorb information.
Cons- Inability to focus on one course at a time.
Standard (Silver)
8 Week Courses Example
This is a blended pathway where a student takes two classes at a time for half of the semester.

Pros- Faster pace courses while still offering variety.
Cons- A little more concentrated learning than the traditional pathway.
Accelerated (Gold)
4 Week Courses Example
This is an accelerated pathway where a student takes one class at a time for four weeks.

Pros- Ability to focus on one subject at a time for a short period.
Cons- Very focused and intensive courses.

Mixed Pathway
BAD Example!
This is an example where a student attempts to combine multiple pathways within the same semester. This should be avoided if at all possible. You can see that the first four weeks has a slightly heavier workload than any of the pathways on the left. The second four weeks becomes exponentially more difficult, while the last eight weeks are incredibly light. It is better to have a balanced workload through out the semester by selecting a single pathway.

Intersession
2 Week Courses

Intersession courses are hyper accelerated courses that take place in between semesters. They are meant to be taken one at a time and help students who need to retake a course, improve their overall GPA prior to a semester start, or simply want to get ahead. These courses are intended to supplement the student’s preferred pathway, as it is not possible to complete a degree with only intersession courses at this time.
